Julian
Gehman, member of Gehman Law PLLC, has practiced
corporate, communications, Internet and IT law for 14 years. For 11 years, he was with the international law firm of Mayer,
Brown, Rowe & Maw, where he was counsel. On February 1, 2006, Mr.
Gehman left Mayer Brown and opened Gehman Law PLLC.
While at Mayer Brown, Mr. Gehman's merger-and-acquisition experience included the representation of Deutsche Telekom AG in its acquisition of an ownership interest in Sprint Corporation, and formation and subsequent sale of the Global One international telecommunications venture. Mr. Gehman also represented Deutsche Post AG in its acquisition of Global Mail Ltd. More recently, he assisted Corvis Corporation in its acquisition of the assets of Broadwing Communications.
Mr. Gehman has represented corporate users in negotiating approximately 300 telecommunications services agreements with AT&T, MCI and Sprint.
Mr. Gehman's experience with private radio systems dates from 1992, when he began prosecuting and defending finders' preference requests for 800 MHz frequencies, preparing and filing FCC license applications and negotiating the sale of specialized mobile radio (SMR) systems. Recently, Mr. Gehman advised private users on 800 MHz rebanding and has handled various FCC licensing matters.
Mr. Gehman also negotiates software licensing agreements and advises on private equity deals in the telecom and Internet space.
